Spring climbing and scrambling festival held down in Waterton National Park 2nd weekend after May Long (i.e. May Long -> nothing -> Tick Fest).
Tick Fest gives you a chance to brush up your technical skills in a relaxed social atmosphere. There are lots of different trip options: top-rope cragging, multi-pitch rock climbing, scrambling, and hiking. The Tick Fest is a great event, especially if you're new to the area, interesting in meeting partners or keen on exploring the relatively unknown routes in the Park. The evening BBQ and morning breakfast are always a hit.

Getting up your first ice climb can be very intimidating, made even more challenging by the chore of finding a willing partner. For over a decade, local climbers have congregated early in December, braving unpredictable chinooks, to drop top ropes and BBQ burgers at the base of Waterton's most reliable and accesible ice amphitheatre.
